About Marne:

Marne (pronounced “Marnie”) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist with more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health. She specializes in sexual health and relationship intimacy, working with individuals and couples seeking clarity, confidence, and connection in this often sensitive area of life.

As President and Co-Founder of the Denver Sexual Medicine Alliance, Marne collaborates closely with physicians and physical therapists to provide an integrative, team-based approach to care. She works with both women and men in a professional, respectful environment designed to support open exploration and meaningful progress.

Marne earned her master’s degree from the University of Colorado Denver and has held clinical, supervisory, and teaching roles throughout her career, including training graduate and post-graduate therapists and supervising clinicians pursuing sex therapy certification.

Marne values lifelong learning, strong family relationships, and meaningful community engagement. In addition to her clinical work, she is available to speak to professional and community groups on topics related to sexual health, intimacy, and relational well-being. 

Marne’s Approach to Therapy

Marne integrates cognitive-behavioral and differentiation-based approaches in a structured, goal-oriented process. Her work is grounded in five key areas: understanding the medical and biological aspects of sexual health, providing accurate adult sex education, clarifying treatment goals, strengthening anxiety regulation, and supporting a clear sense of self within relationships.

She helps clients learn to tolerate initial discomfort while building confidence, set and maintain healthy boundaries, and cultivate intimacy rooted in authenticity rather than fear or avoidance.

For clients navigating relational challenges, Marne emphasizes differentiation — developing a strong sense of self while remaining emotionally connected to others. Her approach is thoughtful, direct, and grounded in both research and real-world application.
