NOTE FROM TRACEY:

“I enjoy working with people who are in the thick of life in their careers, marriage and parenting, who feel that things are starting to feel a bit out of control. If you see that it’s affecting those you love and you know you need a plan, I can help you find new ideas other than escape to deal with things, which will ultimately make you feel better emotionally, help you get a good night’s sleep and get your relationships back on track.”

Tracey Ayers received her Master’s degree from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA in Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado. Tracey is the owner of the Brief Therapy Institute of Denver. She has extensive experience in practicing Solution Focused Brief Therapy and has provided counseling services with licensure since 1994. She has conducted group therapy with adolescents, served as a clinical supervisor for local drug and alcohol treatment centers, and has provided training to professionals in the areas of substance abuse and brief therapy.

Tracey’s Approach to Therapy

Tracey believes that her clients have the strengths and resources to resolve their problems and are just “stuck” when they decide to enter treatment. Tracey works closely with clients in creating goals and setting up a plan of action which helps the client achieve these identified goals. Many times there are barriers, which keep clients from achieving their goals. Tracey works closely with her clients to identify these barriers and problem solve ways to overcome the obstacles, which are keeping them from moving forward. (click here to use Cigna’s interactive tool: How Well Do You Bounce Back?)
Tracey works with individuals, couples and families. She sees children 16 years and older.

What to Expect in a First Session

Tracey Recommends:

From Amazon: “The Power of Habit” contains an exhilarating argument: The key to exercising regularly, losing weight, being more productive, and achieving success is understanding how habits work. As Duhigg shows, by harnessing this new science, we can transform our businesses, our communities, and our lives.”

What Tracey’s Clients are Reading:

From Amazon: “The Slight Edge” is a way of thinking, a way of processing information that enables you to make the daily choices that will lead you to the success and happiness you desire. It shows you how to create powerful results using the tools that are already within you.”

From Amazon: “Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy–co-authored with psychologist and friend Adam Grant–shows you how Sandberg, and many others who have overcome a wide range of profound hardships, triumphed over tragedy. The book posits that it’s helpful to think of resilience like a muscle, one that atrophies in the calm between the storms of our lives. But there are things we can do to develop it, so we’re better prepared when adversity strikes.”

From Amazon: “The good news is that anxiety, guilt, pessimism, procrastination, low self-esteem, and other “black holes” of depression can be cured without drugs. In “Feeling Good”, eminent psychiatrist, David D. Burns, M.D., outlines the remarkable, scientifically proven techniques that will immediately lift your spirits and help you develop a positive outlook on life. Now, in this updated edition, Dr. Burns adds an All-New Consumer′s Guide To Anti-depressant Drugs as well as a new introduction to help answer your questions about the many options available for treating depression.”

Recent Apps recommended by Tracey’s clients:
