Thea Wessel is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Addictions Counselor, Masters Addiction Counselor and is a Nationally Certified Adolescent Addictions Counselor. Over the last seven years she has worked with a variety of behavioral issues, but her passion is doing addictions work with men, women and adolescents. Thea takes pride in providing a safe and professional therapeutic environment for her clients to explore the issues related to addictions and mental health.
Thea received her Master’s degree from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology in the area of Forensic Psychology. Thea is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver and is an OBH approved Certified Addictions Counselor Trainer. She provides clinical supervision and consultation to other professionals in the mental health field.
Thea uses a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy and believes that once clients can change the way they think, the way they feel will be impacted which can then alter the way they behave.
