Dr. Patrick Schwartz is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and he has been working in the Mental Health field for 40 years. Patrick specializes in the treatment of Adults, Couples, Marital, Adolescents, Families, and the Elderly. Patrick has worked with a highly diverse mixture of people and problems and he has experience with a variety of treatment approaches. In particular, he utilizes a Cognitive-Behavioral approach to therapy with a strong emphasis on finding solutions to problems by focusing on strengths and abilities. He is empathetic and actively engaged in the process of helping people to make the changes necessary to improve their lives.
Patrick received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 1989. In 1983 he received his Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1976. Additionally, Patrick has completed training as a Substance Abuse counselor in 1981. He is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Colorado and a member of the Colorado Psychological Association.
Patrick has extensive clinical training and work experience in a wide variety of therapy settings. In his many years of clinical practice he has worked in Private Practice, Mental Health Centers, Inpatient Hospital Units, Adolescent Group Homes, Adolescent Residential and Correction Programs, Adult and Adolescent Substance Abuse Programs, a University Counseling Center, Employee Assistance Programs, and with a large Managed Behavioral Health Care Company.
